The Spirit of the ELR burns Bright!

Updated version – 13 April 2020

In these challenging times for our ELR and with extra time on my hands I have put together a picture montage with music. As some who know me, since I became chairman, I like to take photos of people and events to record this period in time. The vast majority of photos come from my library and others from Google and Facebook; hence some of the quality is not great. Please forgive me if I have missed anyone or anything out.

The ELR is all about people and I came across this quote.

“The human spirit is more powerful than any drug – and that is what needs to be nourished: with work, play, friendship, family. These are the things that matter” by Robin Williams.

  1. Hi Mike! I hope you and your family are well in this lockdown. Anyway, may I ask some questions? Union Of South Africa is here until the end of 2021 but Britannia’s boiler ticket runs out in September. Do you think the insurance people would extend the boiler certificate of not only Britannia but all steam and diesel engines? You could say something about the AGM because as far as I know nobody as said anything regarding our AGM? Does this mean we can still put proposals forward for the AGM? What is happening with our beloved LMS 13065. I did hear you were considering launching an appeal for the Crab but you was in two minds of whether to launch or not.
    Take care.
    Paul.
