A date for the diary. As a thank to our fabulous band of volunteers and paid staff we are hosting a summer barbeque on Saturday 11th August in the Bury Transport Museum at Castlecroft from 18.00. Come along bring your partner and enjoy a great ELR summer evening.
Burrs Country Park – I am pleased to announce the opening of the Lamp post Café located in the former Burrs Activity Centre. Passengers travelling on the ELR can get a 10% discount on proof a valid ticket. Mark and Nicola are great hosts. Breakfast and all-day menus. Open 9-5pm every day.
Vandalism – In July 2017, everyone who loves the railway were outraged and angry when we discovered the wanted damage was caused by school age children. This summer work is underway to install new CCTV cameras and security patrols. To help with these initiatives, we need all working members and staff to remain vigilant in keeping Buckley Wells secure at all times.
Flying Scotsman Rail Tour – Another date for the diary. To support fundraising for City of Wells we are honoured to be able to run Flying Scotsman on a mainline rail tour on the 15th September.
The tour starts at Bury picking up at Heywood, Manchester Victoria, Newton le Willows and Warrington Bank before heading along the North Wales coast to Llandudno Junction and Holyhead.

City of Wells Fund Raising – Good progress is being made. The current total stands at £220,000 around (65%) of the £340,000 target. There is still time to help increase this figure with any size of donation. All donations welcome.
