The Board of the ELR are pleased to confirm Flying Scotsman’s (FS) return visit to the ELR. This allows for the ELLR Co. and ELRPS to join together in an evening celebration of achievements on the ELR. The railway continues to thrive and grow with our wonderful working volunteers at its core.
On Thursday 13th October a special evening train will be open to working members, to offer an opportunity to travel behind FS for free. Through offering this opportunity, we say a small thank you to all those that turn out week after week to support our vision.
For working members who are unable to attend the evening through volunteering during the evening, seats will be made available on other FS service trains.
The train will leave Bury at 7pm and travel Bury – Rawtenstall – Bury and have a capacity of 450 seats on this special service. Upon members arrival at Bury, members will be able to collect a free drink to toast the evening.
In order to offer an allocation to each department, tickets will be divided up and offered to working members in a fair and equitable manner. 65% of each department will be able to travel on the service and in order to determine who will be able to travel, Member ID numbers will be chosen at random. Working members will then be informed that they are able to travel on the service.
However, some head of departments may wish to choose their own means of offering tickets.
Department ticket allocations:
|C & W||18|
|C & W C/CLEAN||18|
|C & W 3P20||6|
To book onto the service, members must phone (0161 764 7790), firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Bury Bolton Street booking office to ensure a seat is allocated. In order to redeem a seat, members must provide their working members ID number.
Bookings will be managed through our booking system to ensure that seats are allocated and to avoid double booking. Tickets will correspond with seat numbers.
If anyone has any questions about this arrangement then please contact me so what we can discuss further.
