I am pleased to announce that I am reinstating the ELR ‘State of Nation’ to be known as the ‘ELR Open Forum’. I understand from a great many volunteers, I have met, that they wanted this forum brought back. In addition to my blog and twitter postings, it is a chance for working and non working members to find out about the ELR’s future plans and how we are performing. It’s also important for me as your new Chair to create opportunities to engage with members and to promote this I will also be hosting a question and answer session.
The meeting is likely to take place in October, so watch this space for more details.
Commercial Manager Our congratulations go to Richard Barnett who has been appointed as the ELR’s first Commercial Manager, where Richard was the unanimous choice of the interview panel. Richard is vacating the ELR’s Sales Manager role; this post will now be advertised internally and externally.
Richard will responsible for bringing together a range of individual revenue generating services in a new Commercial Services Department.
- Buffer and Trackside
Given the revenue growth path its crucial we have a single department to focus on generating revenue and profit. Profit creates the money that we have to reinvest into the running of the railway; restoration projects and improving passenger facilities.
